The auspicious words or characters are a must during Chinese New Year and it’s found in all the household. Of course red means good luck for the Chinese and some other cultures and the words in the photo roughly translated are ‘prosperity’ and ‘Happiness’
Instead of the usually ‘Hi’ or ‘Hello’ we started the sentence with ‘Happy New Year’ or ‘Huat ah’ a very Singaporean type of greeting between close friends and relatives.
Hope the photo will give you lots of prosperity and ‘Huat ah’
