Japanese Stewartia Flower

in photography •  2 years ago

Name of this flower is Japanese stewartia. It is a small to medium-sized tree that typically grows to around 30 feet tall, with a spread of 20 to 35 feet.It has a rounded shape and a dense, twiggy crown that provides excellent shade during the summer months. The tree's bark is smooth and brown-gray in color and it peels away in thin, flat plates to reveal a range of hues, including orange, brown and green. The tree's leaves are oval-shaped and have serrated edges. They are a glossy, dark green color during the summer months and they turn a beautiful orange-red color in the fall. The tree produces white,camellia-like flowers in the late spring or early summer, which are followed by small, brown fruits that resemble acorns.
