Dennis Oswald is a so called 'Storm chaser'. He travels thousands of miles across America to photograph extreme storms where he can get as close as possible to the action. While you and me would run a mile away when confronted with a giant storm, Dennis Oswald does exactly the opposite.
Dennis leaves his home in Germany to travel to the US for 17 years to capture these phenomenal storms. The 34-year-old storm chaser positions himself between 1 to 3 miles away from the storm. Is this a safe distance? Well, I think he knows what he's doing after 17 years of experience.
I'm not sure if I can describe the phenomenon as 'beautiful', but you have to agree his pictures are 'beautiful'.
Here is a selection of his work, but you can find more on his website.

I am not sure if I understand this post. You are not Dennis Oswald far as I can see, yet you are telling his story and showing his images. Do you have his permission to do so ? Sorry, but I am just trying to understand this post . Thanks for your help

Wow, these are stunning and phenomenal. I guess it goes to show if you drive around chasing enough storms, you'll see some amazing ones! Really cool photos.
