Airshow Wednesday / B1-B 'The Bone'

Had the chance to capture this ancient B1-B Lancer also called 'the bone' due to its bone like fuselage shape on a sunny day last year and was able to do half a walk around.

Your use of ancient is intriguing, how old is the airplane? Vivid pictures👍

Thank you. Well it's designed in the 60s, first test flight in '74, production run at Rockwell Industries 1983-1988 so about 30 years. Ancient just because it's never really been replaced by anything and the contingency it was designed for (strategic nuclear strike capability) ended about a year after it was introduced with the end of the cold war. Of course there are more 'ancient' bombers out there:
