first photo caption is "Black Princess" AND last one is "Black Widow" ....... ha ha :D

Haha I like it. I'll add them :)

thank you.
I noticed you use your copyright water-mark on every photographs. I like it. Would you please, tell me what software you use to create water-mark ? I wanna add this type water-marks on my photographs also.

My Steemit JPEG export preset in Adobe Lightroom adds them automatically.

Oh yes, these are choice--nature is amazing! Great shots @pfunk!

Thanks Sara :)

Wow!
Omg my favorite one is the second photo but they are all beautiful!
This inspires me to get some of my epic butterfly shots together to post.
Great work man. Thanks for posting!

Thank you very much Quinn! Your capture of the butterfly in flight was awesome. I tried getting some of these up-close while in flight, just following them around with the camera not even looking into the viewfinder. Was worth a try but I didn't get anything in focus and just barely got a couple in frame even.

Hahahaha yea I told you it was hard! Especially with my dinosaur DSLR!
Though I didn't get much respect for it at all...
Oh well, I felt very accomplished!
Appreciate you!

I was around some flying butterflies today and couldn't get a shot of any of them in flight. I definitely didn't try as long as you though

Yea I was at it for HOURS. I am about to make a post right now with the other nice photos of the Majestic Yellow Swallowtail that I didn't submit for the challenge!

What camera did you use in capturing these photos sir @pfunk? Stunning

A D750, which mostly helped in being able to go to ISO6400 for most of these without too much noise. The photographer and lens are more important factors. Good thing the lens compensates for the photographer in this case :P

Amazing shots! Good tip on the macro lens, I've been looking for a new one...!

Thank you :) No problem, I thought it was a damn good deal too. They're basically on clearance because the new model is out but the new model is way more expensive and has features like image stabilization that don't necessarily justify 2x the cost.

Nice shots. I like the yellow one, your got a good portrait of her.

Thank you @runrudy :)

Love your flora and fauna photos...

Thank you!

These photos are so inspiring; have me wanting to upgrade my gear... Amazing shots.

:) A good macro lens isn't terribly expensive, surprisingly.

Yes, I've just been working with a iphone 6s and disposables. Looking to get a good Canon and will look into that Tamron macro lens you mentioned because that is a sweet deal. Thanks for mentioning it in your post, cheers.

If it's more within your budget, the previous Tamron 90mm macros can be had even cheaper used, maybe new? Look for the 172E model. They don't have some certain coating on the back that helps with the more reflective digital sensors, but if it's a lot cheaper and you're on a tight budget, who cares! The images should be just as good.

Right on, thanks @pfunk!

Beautiful.
I'm wondering what happened to his wing:

Looks like a chunk is ripped off it? You would think it would stop him from flying properly.

Thank you. Their wings fall apart as they age. You can see very tattered wings up close in the last photo here: https://steemit.com/photography/@pfunk/blue-morpho-butterfly

Yes I saw that one too. Amazing that they can still fly with so much damage.

This bitterly is without a doubt in bad shape, probably a cat or bird who almost got him. I have seen butterfly's able to fly in worse codiation though.

Beautiful shots @pfunk! He color in the first shot is stunning!

WOW...These are awesome! Where do you find butterflies like this to photograph... Can't say I come across any like this in Hells Kitchen NYC :))

Thank you! Well lets just say I visited butterfly jail. It was easier prey than normal.

They are cool!

Thanks boddhisattva

This is just great as always. You make some great posts. Glad I have been able to chat with you from time to time. Keep it up man :)

Thank you, see you in chat :)

Cool! By the last time I started to love Macro (though I can not do that myself) I am sure - this beauty helps you with music ;-) Good luck in all the stages !)

Thank you Boris!

Makes me want to get out my macro lens again... Love your pics, especially the Black Princess with the verbena in the background. Perfect depth of field to frame the butterflies too. Well done :)

Thank you very much :)

Beautiful butterfiles, followed you

I appreciate that! I was just looking at your post here and it reminded me of some similar or same flowers I took some shots of https://steemit.com/flowers/@birds90/a-beautiful-flower-to-the-cn-cn

I have yet to post them because I want to try out some focus stacking :)

Awesome shots man, I always appreciate stuff like this because I'm terrible at macro. It takes so much patience haha.

Well, sometimes. Getting the right focus really close up is definitely a patience exercise. Many photos get taken, only a few make the cut.

And you captured a blue winged butterfly landing on an orange orange? Love the use of complementary colour. Bravo.

Thank you!

Wow, I love how you capture their faces. I try to get them as they land on all my garden flowers but have a hard time with clarity. Of course it would help if I understood how to use my camera....lol

Thanks! Make sure you see my other post which was specifically butterfly faces :)
