Ice Monastery

Belogorsky monostery is one of the main sights of the Russian Perm region. In winter, frosts are so severe here that it is covered with ice. Therefore its second name is ICE MONASTERY.

It looks unreal, how cold does it get in there? :O

-20 С, when I was there)

Wow!

That's beautiful, but those temperatures must put Canada to shame. How cold goes it get in this part of central Russia?

I do not think it's colder than in Canada. On the average - 20C. Rarely, when it happens - 30C. In the north of Russia, it's really cold in winter! - 40C is considered heat)))

Well, to be fair Canada has the same range of hot-cold that Russia does. I was comparing this to where I live, which is farther south but still has big swings in temperature. We get lows of below -20 C here, but definitely not an AVERAGE of -20 C, and I don't remember it quite getting to -30!
