Stop Taking Close-ups with your Wide-Angle Lens! Real Life Demo

in photography •  7 years ago

Wide angle lenses for vlog creators because they can get so much of the area in the shot from little distance away. In this video, I go through some do's and don'ts with your wide angle lens. I show you how distortion works and also how to use it to your advantage :)

Enjoy the video and let me know what you think!

Even the front facing camera on your phone makes your nose look about 30% bigger unless you hold it a good ways off.

I have noticed this! I was like wow, my nose is huge wf. but maybe its the angle...

Haha it's the way the front facing camera is built and how close it is. Definitely a distorted image.

Good work sir

So how does skinny people looks like in this lens ? Slenderman ? haha

Solid video man! We ran into this problem all the time with my youtube crew, we had lots of stuff to film and only one lens, 14mm. Not very flattering...

Interesting video, interesting skinny tiny.

Hey man, watch out for the scamming bot that is "running aroud" Steemit again, I´ve seen one on my profile and the bot accuses you that you stole the post and it links you the post that you "stole" and that post doesnt come from Steemit but from a scam site just like few days ago with "steewmit

That distortion is a creative tool in video and photography. I personally like it. You can use the lens correction tool in CS6 and above and in camera raw in photoshop to fix it if you want, saying the program recognizes your lens. I use it mostly in photography and some b roll in video.
