Abandoned gallery: Unexpected exploration

in photography •  5 years ago

Hello All visitors and PV's friends!!

If You follow my profile from a while, You probably know that I love explorations of abandoned places.

No matter if its a house, a mine, factory or waste dump... I love to shoot details there, rotten wood, rusted metal, cracked old paint surfaces...

Yesterday during my morning shooting I found this lovely house standing in a beautiful spot among forests, fields and meadows...

I scouted the building with my 300mm lens and I found that it is deserted, abandoned... I couldn't resist to make some short exploration as a bonus for autumnal shots I presented yesterday....

House looks quite good from the outside, one window in the first floor has no glass in it. This was my second chance to go in if the doors would be closed... but they didn't.

House inside was cleaned, almost all furnitures and stuff were gone. Some shelves in the dining room, kitchen and one bedroom upstairs were present. Also few boxes with old books, newspapers and trash... some empty alcohol bottles in a small dresser downstairs. Some details but really not a lot.

The floors were clean, definitely someone was using the house after they were abandoned, maybe to hide from bad weather, to take a rest, maybe to spend some time alone... who knows.
There was a big farm nearby and I think this house could be the part of it in the past.

Next to the house was big red barn, unfortunatelly all the doors were closed. Probably someone still use the building to hold some agricultural mashines or other stuff. So the theory that the nearby farm was connected to this building has got sense.

Two floors and a basement - I didn't explore the basement - hatch was open but there was no stairs or ladder.

And the attic, I took a look there, but there was too dark to go into and I dodnt have any flashlight with me.

Some facts I found out when scouting the building:

  • newspapers shows the date 1994 - so the haouse was probably left 25 years ago
  • owner was an electrician
  • he liked to drink alcohol
  • he got the letter from police, that he was recorded by the Trondheim's CCTV cameras and he have to go to the office to explain the situation...
Maybe this was the reason why the house become abandoned ;)...

Thanks @qurator !

Lovely captures @photovisions! I kept starring at those curtains :)

They are magical, it is amazing that some things in such places looks so good and artistic... Thanks for the comment.

Great shoot. I love photographing abandoned spaces too, though my shoots tend to favor rural abandoned spaces. I'm drawn to the sepulcher dichotomy of new life overtaking humanity's forgotten places, like graveyards of civilization itself.

Thanks for good comment, there is a magic in such places which is sometimes hard to describe, very personal feelings I think...

Wow that was super interesting and you have there some amazing photos! I would defenatly tune in to see your future posts!

Great to see You liked it and great to know I have new follower :D it will be a lot of stuff for sure! Thanks!
