He popped the question so we popped the champagne!

So this past weekend, my best friend's sister got married! Este, the bride, is also the cousin of my boyfriend, so we woke up at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning and made a road trip all the way down to George. I didn't mind because the Garden Route is my all time favourite road to travel. I say this, but the honest truth is that Pieter and I just slept on the backseat while his brother was driving. Nevertheless, it was a great journey and we finally arrived a few short hours later!

We had to make a quick stop at the mall, which turned out to be a pretty long stop, since Pieter's sister in law didn't have an outfit yet. I was happy because the Pretoria girl in me quite enjoys shopping, so I used this opportunity as an excuse to invest in a bold and striking new red lipstick. I recently dyed my hair red too, so I thought if you're going to go red, you might as well go all out, right?

Soon we arrived at our little cottage for the evening, it was absolutely charming and idyllic in every type of way! Small, cosy, colorful - I was over the moon and couldn't wait to get ready for the big day! So I got into my dress, put on some lipstick and away we went! The wedding was held at Uitsig Wedding Venue in George, an absolutely perfect venue for the bride who wants casual, romantic, intimate, charming and fairytale all at the same time. I made myself at home right away and helped myself to the champagne bar, where I had about 8 glasses of different champagnes (What, they were all different flavours so I had to try them all out?)

Pieter, who I call Gwapi, was looking really smashing. He likes to wear his navy suite and tie his hair up in a man bun when he attends formal occasions. However, on this day, he decided to swop his tie for a bowtie - I was a big fan so I told him we should take some photos.

The wedding was perfect, Este's sister, who is also my best friend Ashley was the MC. She was absolutely hilarious because she kept getting emotional, which just lead her to downing tequilas during her speeches. We made a drinking game out of it, "drink every time Ashley says whoo", she would say whoo when she felt like she was about to cry. It was really fun and we all had a great time. However, I sometimes suffer from something called dronk verdriet. Now, I am writing from South Africa so I don't know how familiar you all are with this term, but it basically means that when you get drunk, you get super emotional and can't shake the feeling. You just get emotional and nothing anybody says can help. Its really shit. So, with that being said, I kind of ruined the party for myself and for Gwapi but I'm used to this by now and its just one of those things. Gwapi and I said sorry the next day and I'm sure I will laugh about all of this one day when I'm in my thirties and I have all my shit together.

Gwapi, when you're reading this, just know that I love you so much okay?

All and all, we had a great weekend and we ended our Sunday off by taking a dip in the pool and cooking pasta! Thank you Este and Carl for a great wedding, we wish you all the love and happiness in the world.
