In East Kent there are still some windmills that have been preserved and remind us of a time when milling was very important to daily life and did not require huge amounts of electricity to be effective. Sometimes a slower process might have been more fulfilling but harder work.
This is Woodchurch village windmill.
A few miles away in the small town of Cranbrook (a brook full of crane birds) there is another windmill.
