My local eagles are at home... eggs in the nest, so one of them is on the eggs 24/7. If you catch them at the right time, you'll see one arriving with something to eat and the other one flexing its wings and taking a break while the hunter sits down on the eggs.
The one in the nest right now is almost asleep. Head is very low, not up keeping watch but down in relaxation mode.
So good pictures are hard. I will keep going back, and sooner or later, something cool will happen while I'm there to see it and get pictures. This nest is about ten minutes from my house, behind a local Target store in the piney woods.
You'll see them here first but for now, you can see the head of the parent above the edge of the nest. Beak is facing to the right, and you can see the eye is facing me, at 200 yards and 90 feet down. I'm no threat, but I'm the only thing moving in the immediate area.
