The city of Zaporozhye, which is known throughout Ukraine for polluted air, and beyond its borders - the Cossacks and the island of Khortytsya, contains various sights. One of these is the children's botanical garden, in the heart of the city, in an industrial area, on the dry Moskva river.
The river itself is known to many locals because of its rich red and orange colors, which it takes downstream. In spite of the fact that there must be already fish-mutants. some manage to fish there. And in fact, dry Moscow it is dry ... You can jump from a running start. And here is that a little higher upstream there is a botanical garden - not everyone knows. I have warm childhood memories connected with it, and therefore somewhere in a year or two I visit it, sadly watching how it goes into disrepair. Today I want to show it to you.
Zaporozhye children's botanical garden - a small green corner in the industrial area

On March 18, 1958, the city government decided to establish a children's botanical garden. The main goal was to build a place for practical training of children and teachers in biology. For the construction, the project of the engineer "Zelenstroy" Yuri Andreyevich Gaidar was used.
Earlier there was a dump on this place, but already on October 29, 1958, the pioneers and Komsomols came here with tools and began clearing the territory, planting the first plants. Today the garden occupies more than 14 hectares of land, has more than 20 greenhouses.

one of the available greenhouses is a place with tropical plants - palm trees, bananas and a swimming pool, where very large, gluttonous and brazen goldfish swim.
