PhotoshopSecrets - free Halloween offer from Viewbug
Another free eBook, this time about Photoshop and how to turn your photos from good to great. With only 40 pages of length it doesn't try to be a Photoshop "Bible" but it's rather introduction for beginners to Photoshop, people who may be quite good at shooting photos but new to digital editing (yeah, I believe there are such people and it's quite beautiful thing for me).
“Here you will find an introduction on what the Adobe graphic software is about and how you can use it for your projects.”
This sentence from the introduction describes the book quite accurately. Despite being described as “Adobe Photoshop tutorial” on Viewbug’s offer page it’s more of coffee table book that offer gentle, in fact very gentle introduction to Adobe’s most popular product and most widely used photo-editing software in the world (at least by professionals).
This may be surprising as the Table of Contents looks pretty impressive with about 20 different positions. But if you take a closer look you’ll find that some sections are very basic: for example the first one is titled “How To Get Images Into Photoshop” and it does only tell you how to open image file and it’s not very thorough in that. Book size of 40 pages also should be taken with a pinch of salt - about half of space is taken by images and font size used is also huge, hence my classification as coffee table book. But if you’re looking for a subtle introduction to what Photoshop can do with your photos you may still find this interesting.
