"A. Buell". Who is that? (Albert, from just down the road) was the photographer. If clearly stating "Chateaugay River Stereoscope by A. Buell" is unclear, please explain why.

The way I read that policy, I'm already doing exactly what I should be doing, of my own volition, because it's the right thing to do.

I read the article on "why this is bad" and since I hate being on the bad kid list I thought I'd make a futile response attempt. Likely I'm responding to a bot, but here goes...

I hate using anything from "google" but because of your comment I resorted to using their "image search" product and wasn't all that shocked to find this exact image there -- yep, it showed up with about a gazillion other photographs that I scanned and posted over the past 25 years on a historical website that I created many years ago. Thus the reason that this may be found in other sources, found using "google" search is because I made those posts on "other websites". ("Unfortunately, many resort to copying and pasting images from other websites directly into their own posts").

Likely, there's only one "other website" where I posted this image -- Twitter, which I'm currently cleaning off because of their censorship/other policies. Funny -- they never had a problem with any of my posts, and you're busting my balls? Don't tell me that I've dumped Twitter for a social network that's even worse. Don't worry, I'll stop use the #photography tag.

I'm very familiar with the terrain that Albert Buell had to deal with in order to set up his stereoscopic camera. There are dangerous cliffs, that go down into a deep chasm. One slip-up and you're a dead photographer. Yet, he lugged that stuff up and down both sides of this river, and produced magnificent images. His studio later caught on fire, destroying all of the original negatives. Nowadays, finding his work isn't all that easy, but I own several prints. I think that "the world deserves" to see what he did. If I can't post his stuff here, giving him an attribution in the post title (like I always anyway) do without receiving a naggy scolding comment, I'm posting on the wrong network -- let me know if I am. Thank you. I'm sick of the Central Scrutinizers on social media. I've been off social media for about a year. I don't miss it enough to put up with being told I'm not observing "rules" that I'm observing.
