The Cape of good hope is a well managed national park with outstanding scenery and beautiful views.

The ride to reach there is in itself quite an eye opener (it takes a full day to go there and come back, so be warned, the more so if you have young kids in tow), especially when you have a good guide to explain the incredibly diverse wildlife (+400 species of fire-bush flowers in only a few thousand hectares!!) and you should not, absolutely not, feed these monkeys...
The place is so well managed and preserved that you feel the loneliness of these landscapes during the long minutes you need to cross them... and if you are lucky, you may spot some wild ostriches, wild endemic deer and, if you are unlucky, the wild monkeys.
When you reach there, you can have a small lunch (again, do not expose your food, be on the lookout for the birds which can dive to attack your food or visiting monkeys that can bite) and then either climb or buy tickets to take a short ride up the funicular train up the slope to reach the lighthouse.

There are signs everywhere to remind of the harsh living conditions of former times to maintain this outpost.
The views are. there are no words to describe the breathtakingly spectacular scenery that sprawls around you. Quite a humbling experience to see the meeting place of the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean.
There is a short walk down to the most south-western tip, but you can also drive there to take pictures at the landmark. Beware of high-season crowds when taking photos there.
Really impressed. A must-do experience!
The Cape of good hope is a well managed national park with outstanding scenery and beautiful views. Wonderful wildlife is in abundance with ostrich, zebra, and eland being spotted easily on our visit. The Cape point lighthouse visitor centre us great with all necessary amenities, just be on lookout for the naughty baboons though. They will steal food from you if you are not vigilant. Highly recommend a visit!

Beautiful view. You can easily see wild ostriches here. But 2 things to take care here. Avoid coming here in August specifically on a windy day. You can't stand here for a minute because of the cold breeze.
Secondly keep yourself away from baboons. They can snatch anything from your hand. Specially if it's food.

Such an amazing day out! The Cape is filled with so many fantastically beautiful places but Cape Point is one of those really special spots.
Drove to this spot after visiting the lighthouse. Really amazing! We didn't end up doing to scenic walk yet, but it's on our list for the next time we visit!
It was extremely windy when we went in May. I'm not sure if it's always like that, I think based on its location, so just dress prepared for it :)
And everything is kept so clean and neat which is also wonderful.
This is definitely a "Must-see" for all visiting or living in the Cape Town area.
