Photography: A catalyst for adventure

Hello Steemit,

     If I find myself bored I can always trust in my camera to take me places. Think of a camera as a key to doors that would otherwise be closed and locked. Literally as I type this I was asked to photograph a concert. Unfortunately I won't be able to, but that's exactly the type of opportunity I am talking about. I started my photography journey about five years ago when my dad gave me his Nikon d5100. Since then I have found myself in many places and situations I normally wouldn't be if it wasn't for my desire to capture a moment. Something amazing or beautiful is happening around us almost all the time. There is always a story to be told. It just takes the right perspective in order to see it. I've learned a lot about photography and still have much more to learn, but beyond the technical stuff it's photography's ability to get me out the front door and into the world, that I love. Here is some of my more recent work from a cattle sorting and a private horsemanship clinic.
