There are two birds that are the go to for sound effects guys when portraying the west. The first is the screech of the Red Tail hawk. The second is this little guy, the Red Winged Black Bird. His call you've probably heard hundreds of times in movies and TV shows. It sound like a set of different sized steel cable being twanged in a repeating pattern.
