Killdeer are a species of plover and while many other species are having a hard time adjusting to the presence of man the Killdeer are thriving. This is mainly do to the fact they are happy to coexist with man and aren't afraid of being in close proximity to people. This allows them to take advantage of prime habitats that over plovers pass up.
