It's All About The Lalo's Chitown Margaritas They Are Huge!

I Love Margaritas At The White Sox Games Too

I Don't Drink Anymore Because Booze Makes Me Fat

Also My Feet Hurt If I Eat Too Much Sugar And Booze Has Tons Of Sugar

I was organizing my photo albums that I transferred to my new MacBook Pro I bought with some of my Steemit earnings and I found this wonderful selfie taken with the 1st generation iPhone back in 2007. My dear husband took this photo, so I guess it's not really a selfie. There was no front facing camera on 1st generation iPhones.

Photo Taken With 1st Generation iPhone

This is our front yard over on South Water St by Millennium Park and Michigan's Lake Front. The complex used to be a swamp river frontage, then an old dump that was turned into a golf course and then turned into a bunch of condo's and skyscraper apartment buildings.

We moved into the Shoreham before it was finished back in 2006 and I felt like I was living in a spaceship. Being a farm girl and all I had no chores to do and it was heaven. We had saunas, a pool, and gym on the 15th floor.

It was awesome until around the 3rd year and everything started getting stinky and old. Especially the hot tubs. Who knows what happened in those hot tubs...

This is the front of the office building I worked in as a paralegal, not the most glamous job but it was steady work and I didn't have to edit just create documents and do filings in court. The hard part was dealing with court clerks. That's another story to be told at a later date.

I walked to work either on upper Wacker St or Lower Wacker St, it was a 2 mile walk full of interesting people every day. I loved that walk. I walked Lower Wacker during the winter to avoid the extreme cold and winds. That walk and the photos I took will become another article about the underbelly of Chicago. I did a Tibetan meditation called Chod under Chicago surrounded by darkness, dust, and garbage left by the underground communities that used to live down there before Mr. Obama became President. Chod is used to cut fear at its roots and to develop compassion to take the place of fear and I was able to walk in the darkness of Chicago's roots without fear! Walking lower Wacker every day was a strange adventure. By contrast upper Wacker St was a people watching paradise.

This is great to read wonderful experience shared by you :) very cool pics

My husband and I had a blast but we worked so much that we hardly saw each other much. I am glad we work from home now. I love him even more since we spend most of our time together now.

thank you so much for this another awesome post:)

Fun times @machhour!

Wow... that's a serious margarita! Reminds me of this place I used to go to a long time ago (I'm more of a "one glass of wine a week" person now) where the margaritas were locally known as "Frozen Ludes." It was house "law" that you had to hand the bartender your keys and license if you tried to order a second one...

Good times, good times...

The bartenders knew us well and we always took a taxi or walked home. It cost around $350.00 extra rent for car parking. We are too cheap and decided to walk because we lived close to stores and work. It was an interesting time not owning a car after owning one most of my life.

So cool to see more of your history and your experiences! that margarita looks very nice.

Thank you @jonjon1, Chicago just about killed me with that kind of fun, but I learned a lot about myself and big city life that I would of never known if I stayed in rural America. I prefer living in the country and visiting the big city from my 10 years of experience living in Chicago.

Lovely post so many great shots :D

Oh man @cutiepie, I have 100s of photos to share, thank you <3

It turned out to be a real portrait :)

Yeah, it's funny how that happens when you are a little drunk and relaxed. I usually am not that photogenic. Thank you @dlina-v-metrah!

The photos didn't transfer very well from my old hard-drive, I am going to try and transfer them again, something happened with their sizing ...but it's nice to go through all the great memories. Thanks for the time and comments @apple64, nice to meet you.

Very cool story @reddust thanks for sharing. Its always interesting to learn about where people have been and what they have done . I have been to Chicago a few times in my life , and honestly my favorite thing was always going to Lou Malnati's for pizza. I always looked forward to it. Since then I have divorced my self from pizza , and many other things in my efforts to live a healthier lifestyle.

@neil-rothbard, I don't eat pizza anymore either and I ate a lot of pizza, drank a lot of booze and walked everywhere in Chicago. We couldn't afford rent space for a car, which is good because we ate out most of the time we lived there. I really had to work my butt off at the gym to keep the fat off my butt!

Booze does make you look better... I once had a woman tell me I looked just like Brad Pitt through the bottom of a shot glass!

@richq11, I've heard that story a few times over the years ;-) hahaha

Nice photo especially you are so pretty! @reddust!

Thank you @saan, I appreciate that.

exellent memories reddust memories are only memoreis it dont come back in life and its the best moments of life which past we dont forget it in any conditions

I had a lot of good memories, however my simple farmers lifestyle didn't adapt very well to city life. The food and drink were to rich for me and I ended up getting sick. Which, in the long run turned out to be good because now I am very healthy at 57 years old changing my diet and learning how to cope with stress correctly.

Nice photos! I was able to walk to work in my first job; a perk not to be underestimated! Although nowhere near as interesting a walk as yours sounds!

I walked 4 miles a day not counting walking to court every day. My feet hurt but I was in wonderful shape and this was a real adventure for a farm girl like me. I felt overwhelmed by the huge buildings, masses of people, and the noise my first year but adjusted.

nice photos @reddust and u look so pretty in photo thanx for share with us ur albums some photos

I had the chance to dress up every day instead of wearing farm boots and jeans. It was nice but kind of exhausting have to look nice all the time.

wonderfull photos mam from ur albums hope u dont forget those moments

I won't forget, the memories have been encoded into my genes, the photos are nice to share and I am glad you like my little adventures.

Thanks you sharing your beautiful photos. I want to drink that too @reddust!

We can go out partying together, I will buy you a drink but I can only drink water now. My body says no more sugar or fake foods!

Hope one day I can join the party with you @reddust! :D
Why can't body accept sugar?

Wonderful photos! Your photo is pretty @reddust!

Thank you @ahzanak, That was taken ten years ago, thankfully I have good genes and if I watch my stress and eat whole foods, drink lots of clean water and get sunshine and exercise I haven't not aged much!

Great post @reddust! Upvoted and followed to see more great photos from you.
Love to see more :D

I have tons of photo adventures thanks to those old iphones, I'll be sharing more. I'll post one photo adventure a week. Thank you @cryptoclock7.

Hell yeah I love seeing fellow Chicago people on here posting about the amazing city. I know some people will say that Chicago is just ridden with crime and violence but and it is but the media never focuses on the good and the great things to do out there in the city and following the memories that other people could make if they just give chicago a chance. nice post!

I walked all over Chicago and rode public transportation. I have so many stories about good people, street people, cops, the mayor Daily and his body guards, and aweful con-men trying to get money out of me.

Thanks for sharing those old photos. I hope you will most more old photos :D
