Follow me to Lago di Garda - ESCAPE thelongweekend

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello my dear Steemers,

last weekend my family and I went for a short trip to Lago di Garda, Italy. It all started back in Nuremberg, since our car is in the car service station we got a lift to Lago di Garda in the so called "Pussy Wagon" (for further information - have a look here. When we arrived, the long ride was already forgotten... Lucky us the weather was perfect from the start and for the rest of the trip. I'll give you some insights on the trip.

On our first evening, we went out to eat some Pizza & Pasta + some good wine of course! What else :) When we woke up the next morning, we went for a hike the whole day! Some offside hiking in the mountains, pure nature, the whole package. The sun was burning down at us, which we didn't notice of course... The other days, we went for some sightseeing to Malcesine & Reiff or went for Stand Up Paddling, which I started three weeks ago in Belgium, it really is a lot of fun and the rest of the day we were eating, drinking, chilling and getting sunburned. Not too much chilling, since we were almost the whole day on the run.

I hope you got a little insight on my trip, if you got any questions or need any tips for Lake Garda, feel free to ask and I'll try to help as far as I can. Also if you have been to Lake Garda, let me know your experience! :)

Two facts about Lago di Garda:

  1. Was Formed During The Ice Age by a huge glacier.
  2. There are three provinces which border Lake Garda. The southeast area is bordered by Verona. In the north, it is bordered by Trentino. In the southwest area, you can find Brescia.

It was an amazing trip to Lake Garda, the food, the people and the nature ! Such powerful Lake surrounded by even more powerful mountains... If you haven't been to Lake Garda it's worth a visit! That's for sure :)

Hope all of you enjoyed another series of my travels, if so follow me for more adventures @redtravels

Steem on,

Steve

Excellent pictures!

thanks a lot

Gorgeous place, I just got home from my first trip to Italy. We hit up the major cities and tourist attractions though. I need to get out into the country and mountains more next time!

It really is! Had a look at your page :) Love your Burano post! Upvoted and followed you :)

Thanks so much, I am following you as well! I feel like since I joined Steemit all I have done is add to my list of places to travel to because of posts like yours! It's not a bad thing at all!

Next stop for us I think is Barcelona, have yet to make it to Spain.

Stunning place and beautiful pics!

Thanks and it is :) Have you been there?

Never been to the Garda lake, but close to it! We have a friend's dad who lives there and he says it's amazing! Should add it to the list of places to see! Since we travel a lot to Europe to meet up with family and friends, I'm sure we'll be able to go there some time. Your pics convinced me ;)

Hope so :) That's my goal on Steemit ;) To show people around with some photos and a little side talk to it... Maybe to even be a little travel guide ;) If you ever get the chance to go there do so. It is of course touristy, but still really great!

Beautiful photos! Such scenic view. "Pussy Wagon"? Now that's a catchy name haha.

Thanks! Yeah :D someone else commented on my other post and they had a car called Shaguar, which is cool too :)

Hey. Really nice pictures of a beautiful place..
Thanks for the trip :)

Thanks a lot :) like your posts too following you :)

Looks awesome Steve! The third picture kind of reminds me of Venice but I'm sure really it was nothing like it. Lake Garda definitely sounds like a fun and beautiful place to visit. Did you see many cyclists there?

It's worth a visit! Tons of cyclists! A friend of mine always goes there for cycling, it really has some great routes. But be careful of the cars (especially the Italians, haha)

Yes there have been some tragic cycling accidents in Italy over the last couple of months. Does your friend ride a mountain bike or road bike?

Yeah got a little crazy!... He does both, he also does a lot of triathlons... still trying to get him on here :)

Lovely Garda Lake and amazing pics!
Greetings from Italy :)

Thanks a lot :) Greetings back from good old Germany...
