Here is one of the most beautiful temple you can find in Taipei, I took this picture at night when the nocturn lighting gives a total new perspective to the edifice. We can admire the insane complexity of the sculptures with multitudes of personages and divinities depicted on the walls and roofs. Full of stories and mysteries !
Taiwanese population is deeply attached to it's tradition and religious values (Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism and animism maybe ?)
If you really want to understand how Taiwanese people are inside, just go visit those places an take a good inspiration from everything you see, smell and feel. You can also ask a Taiwanese to guide you trough one of these temples, he will teach all basic rules before going inside in order to not offend the gods living there !
What I really love about those temples is the feeling that all those traditions are still strong and alive in the people's heart but also seems to apply in the reality. Thinking about maybe some little spirits or gods are walking around us in every day life is scary but it can makes sens after all ?
