Srimangal is known as the capital of tea growing area in Bangladesh. Miles around of tea garden is look like wonderful green carpet. Surma Valley, Srimangal hills, Chandghani hills, Khasiand Jainta hills are covered with a lot of tea gardens and lush green tropical forests.images (13).jpeg
Total number of tea estates is 163 and total tea growing area is 54,106 ha in Bangladesh
There are three of the largest tea gardens in the world both in area and production. Nearly 300,000 workers are employed on the tea estates of which over 75% are women .rest 25% are male workers. In the tea garden tribal and also female workers are preferred. Because for tea leaf plucking from the tea gardens females do the better than male workers.
Employers prefer to engage women for plucking tea leaves since they do a better job and are paid less than the men.
Mainly Sylhet is standard tea garden area. The wonderful Surma Valley is secured with patios of tea gardens and rich green tropical forests. Srimangal is known as the tea capital of Bangladesh and for miles around one can see the green floor covering of tea gardens on the incline slants.images (114).jpeg
Today, the country has 162 commercial tea estates, including many of the world's largest working plantations
The industry accounts for 3% of global tea production, and employs more than 4 million people.

The tea is grown in the northern and eastern districts, the highlands, temperate climate, humidity and heavy rainfall within these districts provide a favourable ground for the production of high-quality tea.
The gardens are relics from the days of the British Raj. The plantations were started by the British and the manager still live in white timber homes as they did in those days.

Srimongal is famous for tea gardens, hills and forest areas on the hills. The tea gardens in here are famous for being the largest in the world. These gardens are beautifully patterned by the green nature. If you are not satisfied after only watching you can also look into how the tea is grown and processed. The Tea Research Institute Bangladesh will give you practical knowledge on how tea is processed, produced and exported eventually.

Madhabpur Lake is natural lake inside the Madhabpur tea estate. The water of the lake is so clean and clear that you cannot stop yourself from jumping inside the lake. This lake is between the small hills, and most of the hills are planted with tea trees. At winter season different kinds of migratory birds come here. by Sylhet Bangladesh.......
