My New Tropical Garden.

in photography •  7 years ago

Moving house with lots of young plants is never easy but thankfully almost everything seems to have made it in one piece.
My young tomato plants and herbs seem to be settling in nicely.

This is my comfrey plant grown from seed - I am experimenting with this one as I brought the seed from Europe and hope it will adapt to the tropical climate. It is such an important healing plant I couldn’t think of not having some growing in my garden here. It speeds wound healing amazingly even healing broken bones - known as “knit Bone”

As I was crouching on the ground getting these shots this beautiful humming bird came down to check me out. It hovered just a few feet from my face, I was too in awe to get a photo until he moved on to this flower a few feet away. What a magical moment to start my day!

I moved from one house to another house a couple of weeks ago. There is already a beautiful garden here but I always grow fruit trees and plant a few wherever I go and being a vegetarian I like to grow as much vegetables as is possible, given the space I have. Resteeming this post won you a prize of a magical 23% upvote from sallybeth23.

Great that you were able to conserve your plants in the move - all too often plants can be damaged/unmovable. That's great you were able to grow some European comfrey and your tomatoes are looking green and healthy :)

I am looking forward to getting to tomato growing temperatures here! :D

Hi @gardeningchef - I noticed tomato farmers in Southern Spain grow all year round, you probably just need particular types that don’t mind the cooler nights. Your local garden center could have tomato plug plants ready to go. The nice thing about toms is you can always keep one potted near the house or in the house in a sunny position and bring a few on quicker.

Moving house is too difficult work but your every tomato plant is well grow ....

Hi @masuma you are sooo right haha. It is hard work moving house Yes I am really pleased with the plants growth and their adaptability to a new situation.

The plants are really good for a house
I love your photos

thanks yes I very much agree - all homes should have at least two or three plants in, hopefully many more.

superb photography, ♥ your photography.

beautiful plants and unforgettable moments.

Tha k you very much

excellent, natural photography

Thank you for your support

you mostly welcome @sallybeth23

Beautiful, you are a farmer?

Thank you, no I am more a gardener than a farmer.

Oh I see.
I kinda love this field :)

Amazing action shot of the humming bird :)

Thanks @magiccleatus I still get a little overexcited in their presence which can make it even harder to get the shot. As a nature photographer ones life is full of intense moments as a bird or animal or insect, happens by and you have to get there create composition and clarity all in the twinkling of an eye sometimes.

Thank you you so much for your gracious comment. Sadhguru's techniques have improved my life multi-dimensionly, he has been in my life for well over a decade, even before the days he became big on youtube.com and almost a household name in India, especially recently with his extraordinary Rally For Rivers across the whole of India. He runs a non-religious, organisation for inner well being. You can find out more here if you are interested... of course I would thoroughly recommend you download his free meditation and do the Inner Engineering course as I say they are life changing. http://isha.sadhguru.org

I heard him once long ago..i am part of Art of Living by Sri Sri Ravi ji...they teach the best way to live the life...

That is wonderful to hear.

Your plants are doing well!
Not easy when they undergo changes,
there very good success!
The fly bird is superb.
It's nice to see one, here we do not have one.
Thank you

Its beautiful.

Its a miracle that it all made it back in one piece! Usually moving plants has at least two or three casualties :(
