1st test run with Syrp Genie Mini - the Bali valley results!steemCreated with Sketch.

Shooting awesome panoramas has become much easier in recent years. Even iphones do it now!

However, shooting HDR panoramas with seemless joins, covering a full 360 degrees is not so simple.

Unless you have the right toy!

The Syrp Genie Mini

Screen Shot 2017-06-24 at 12.52.35.png

This morning i covered an angle of 200 degrees using my new device taking a total of 4 HDR shots, stitched together in After Effects.

AND THIS IS THE RESULT...

I am not 100% happy with this final image and will try it again during the sunrise colours of the morning and cover a smaller angle allowing for more of the jungle to be in shot. And less of the concrete foundations!

Onward & Upward!

You might not be happy with it. But it is a great photo none the less and better than many people could do. Therefore, I'm ready to see your next one because it'll be amazing if it is better than this one!

Good point

Thanks Charles. I was just saying to @dzboston33 that I have a perfectionism problem!

But it drives me always to better myself and it doesn't matter that I never 'get there'.

The important thing is reaching for that never-ending improvement :)

You will surely get there. But dont be too worried about being a perfectionist...you are doing great, so believe in yourself and keep moving

Thanks friend. Appreciate the comment. I have a perfectionism 'problem' and rarely produce work I am 100% happy with! But that is what drives me to the heights I achieve.

The Great Rift.jpg

I was 100% happy with this one, taken last month here in Bali :)

Oh, I love this picture! It is fantastic!

That is an awesome panorama. Thank you for sharing your 'secret' of using the Genie fir such great results. Upvoted.

I would be honoured if you take a look at my blog today. Your comments will be very much appreciated.

I like it a lot toooooooooooooo

I will have a look now...

thanks for the comment and hope to see some panoramas from you soon!

"toy"haha
are u making ads for them?

Looks great isnt it?

Actually no, but I should be hey! Hmmmm, perhaps I will contact them now and see if they want a steemit account.

Many thanks for the idea :)

I do travel photography as well and was looking into purchasing the Genie @samstonehill. How do you like it? I was thinking about getting the full kit — but then Elderkrone came out with there motion kit. Now I'm confused. You can see my work at http://instagram.com/jefflombardo or http://jefflombardo.com if you're interested! Gave a fellow photographer a follow as well. :)

wish you success ...

Wow! Just watching the Elderkrone on youtube now. I want one!!! $2599 is a bit out of my range however... for the moment. Come on STEEM!

I use the Genie in conjunction with my digislider track and a second Genie will give me the same 3 axis motion. For a much cheaper price. Though the useablilty of the Elderkrone looks far superior.

I will check out your work now...

Steem on :)

One thing to say about that panoramic pic of the valley. HOLYCRAP! Technically that should be 2 words haha, but wow. Great work. following!

same here

Thanks for your very enthusiastic comment :)

Much appreciated and I hope you enjoy the Steemit ride...

It looks amazing. Wherever you are looks magical! How much easier did the genie mini make it? Cell phones make it too easy now..thanks for the white. Look forward to what the morning sunrise brings!

same here...wow

I am lucky to live in a world where there is magic all around me :)

Untouched nature is more than just organic life... it is energy... it is divine. And I love to try and capture that feeling with my HDR shots. Which look more mystical than regular photography.

The Genie did make it easier but the stitching in After Effects took longer than expected. I think there may be a better way....

Will keep you informed :)

Very nice.

Thanks very much ;)

wow, the result is magical...good one indeed, am impressed. Keep it up

Thanks buddy. The next one will be better ;)

Sure! Why not ;)

Thanks for the comment. I have followed your account.

That looks very promising!

I agree

Thank you I am looking forward to sharing more

It is undoubtedly an amazing snap of the valley. Can you please share what were the aperture and ISO for this ?

Shot on Canon 5D mkiii
lens 24mm f1.4
ISO 100
aperture 22 (I think! Perhaps it was less than this. But to get everything in focus it would have been that end of the scale for sure)

But the reason it looks so cool is because it is HDR. High Dynamic Range.

See here if you want to know more about how to create this: https://steemit.com/photography/@samstonehill/it-s-a-beautiful-misty-morning-in-bali-hdr-explained

That's pretty awesome. May I ask how much the Genie Mini runs?

I agree

Do you mean the price? If so, it costs $249

I love it :)

Me tooooooooooooo hehe

And I love that you love it :)
