Feathered Friday

Hiking you come across many different species of flora and fauna. One of the most common birds found in Strathcona Park are Canadian Jay's or Whiskeyjacks. These birds flock to hikers in large numbers for a hand out. Without fear they date from tree to tree and then swoop down for a free meal.

These little birds are not as strikingly coloured as their beautiful blue cousins the Stellar Jay but they have a very confident personality when it comes to interacting with people.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

They are such fun birds! We have Bluejays here, and they are much more wary. Thanks for posting to #featheredfriday

I've never had much luck with Bluejays either but these Whiskey Jacks are fearless.
