This afternoon I went for a lovely snowshoe hike in Truckee's Tahoe Donner area. I walked for miles to get to the perfect view of the mountains in the distance. If it wasn't so far away from the nearest road, this would be the perfect place to build a cabin in the woods. I stood there daydreaming of what it would be like to live way out here in the middle of nowhere. To be able to have your own little winter wonder land...
Just Kidding!
This was for a real estate shoot I did today. It's an undeveloped lot right off the road. Although I did wear snowshoes for the shoot and if you were to build here, you would have a pretty cool view.
I thought I'd have some fun on steemit with today's shoot. Inspired by @brandt's #funny post "Quiet little spots are the best kind of spots" If you like a little humor in your feed, check out his other post's too. (His #funny post was way better than mine.)
@brandt's post got me thinking about how photographers do indeed sometimes trick people with composition and cropping out unwanted objects in our shots. And I, as someone who shoots a lot of real estate photos, "trick" people a lot. If I didn't, I wouldn't get hired to shoot again. The mountain range in the first photo appears much closer than it actually is, and it appears that there is nothing else around for miles and miles. The shot below taken from nearly the same spot, well, it's just a location in a heavily wooded neighborhood. The wide angle shot below was taken with a lens set at a focal length of 24mm, the zoomed in first shot was taken with a focal length of 166mm.
Which photo do you think the real estate agent will use on the postcard mailer???
Thank you for looking and reading!

LOL! Well … you got me, you sure did. Despite the trickery it still does look like a nice place to have a home. :)
Thanks for the mention and link! I wish Steemit had a way of notifying me when someone mentions my username … it used to serve little red notification icons, but I haven't seen one of those in ages. It was pure chance that I passed by here and saw my name.

It's not a bad neighborhood. My house is about a 6 minute drive from that property, I like it here.
No problem about the mention/link, keep up the great posts! I figured that if you hadn't upvoted or commented by this evening, I'd post a link to this post on your "trickery" post. Glad I got you back!
