Fort Yargo State Park is one of 13 state parks participating in Georgia’s 3-year-old First-Time Camper Program, which enables families to experience sleeping under the stars in a tent before investing in their own camping equipment.
Kids will love taking a Camping 101 lesson and working with park staff to set up their campsite before going off to swim in the lake, paddle a kayak or get in a round of disc golf. The state park also offers ranger-led nature hikes and 3-day Junior Ranger camps.
