Welcome to the continuation of my Discovering the Allgäu -Series!
A must see for all visitors to the region is the so-called Breitachklamm, an up to 150 m deep gorge, formed by the river Breitach.
It's located at the exit of the Kleinwalsertal and can easily be accessed by car or bus. Around 300'000 visitors are walking the 2.5 km long gorge each year. During main season it can thus become quite a crowded site.
The Klamm was formed during about 10'000 years since the last ice age, a rather short time for a gorge of these dimensions. The soft sedimentary rock got quickly eroded by the river's relentless grinding.

The river gets narrower and wilder the further one progresses into the canyon.

Die Breitachklamm ist echt der Hammer. Ich war als Teenie mal dort, weil mich meine Eltern mal in die Berge "geschleppt" haben, obwohl ich lieber an die See fahre. Zwei Ereignisse sind mir allerdings noch in guter Erinnerungen gebliben aus diesem Kurzurlaub. Die Erklimmung des Nebelhorns und der Besuch der Breitachklamm.

Das freut mich, dass mein Post alte Kindheitserinnerungen aufleben lassen konnte. Die Breitachklamm ist tatsächlich gerade auch für Kinder etwas sehr eindrückliches.

Schade das Bilder ohne Ton sind! Ich war damals als Kind dort und fand das einfach ein atemberaubendes und faszinierendes Naturspektakel. Prädikat unbedingt sehenswert. Tolle Bilder was du da gemacht hast.

Astonishing natural captures yet again. Fortunately, this beautiful place seems to be big enough to absorb those 300,000 yearly visitors comfortably and without getting crowded :) I love that salamander shot and I was going to say that I would love to see you submitting it in my Reptile Photography Contest that I will be hosting next week but I just checked and figured that salamanders are actually amphibians, not reptiles.

Was für eindrucksvolle Naturaufnahmen. Jede Stockphotobörse würde die mit Kusshand nehmen!
So einen Salamander würde ich auch gerne mal in natura sehen

Danke, das freut mich zu hören! Wäre schön, wenn jemand eine steembasierte Stockphotobörse aufsetzen würde. Auch für diesen Zweck wäre Steem die ideale blockchain. @thecryptofiend hatte das vor langer Zeit mal schon anvisiert gehabt, hat sich aber wieder verlaufen.
