Baby Song Thrush hiding in the grass, Isles of Scilly, Cornwall England

This baby Song Thrush was looking for it's parents to bring it something to eat. The mum was busy finding snails. The Song Trush population is in decline in the UK but they seem to be doing well in the Isles of Scilly. It's a common site to see them breaking snail shells on rocks. They sometimes drop them from a great height and you hear them cracking.

The Song Thrush has a distinctive speckled breast and a nice repeating song. There's a video here if you want to hear it https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/wildlife-guides/bird-a-z/song-thrush/

Looks like I need to make it clear that this is my original photograph. I am the copyright holder, this photo might be elsewhere on the internet because I sell stock photos and other people license them.
