Jacob's Ladder steps in Falmouth, Cornwall England and a bit of Cricket folklore

I took this photo of Jacob's Ladder steps in Falmouth before climbing all 111 of them. 111 is considered by some to be an unlucky number in cricket. It's called Nelson, referring to his missing eye, arm and possibly one other body part. Umpire David Shepherd used to stand on one leg or hop whenever the scoreboard was on 111.

At the top of the steps, there's The Jacobs Ladder Inn. I wonder how many people have found Nelson has struck, descending those steps after spending a few hours in there?
