Chocolate-Covered Peanut Butter Treats

in photography •  6 years ago

Hi Steem friends,

Today I'm sharing a photo that I took this evening after making some more sweet treats. I had mentioned in my post yesterday that I baked some chewy chocolate chip cookies for me to snack on throughout this week, but today I had an idea for something a little bit different. Previously, during the holidays I made some chocolate covered peanut butter balls and these are fairly similar to those.

I decided to make essentially the same thing, but using a slightly flatter shape for the peanut butter rather than a rounded ball. This essentially gives the appearance of chocolate-covered banana slices or perhaps some varieties of chocolate-covered mint cookies that you might find in the stores.

Regardless of their shape, they weren't really too difficult to make. I simply combined some peanut butter with confectioners sugar and salt and formed the individual treats. Next I separately melted down some milk chocolate and white chocolate. I decided to coat each piece of peanut butter entirely in milk chocolate, let it chill for a little while, and then finished it off with a drizzle of white chocolate on top.

Now I've just set them in the freezer to set for their final round! I can't wait to take them out and see how they taste!
