While travelling around Tibet, I got to explore some of the most beautiful sites known to mankind. The exquisite designs of the various monasteries were such a sight to behold and I was dazzled by the intricate details that gone into each and every corner of these places of worship. The golden structures were a testament of how important religion is regarded throughout Tibet and much of the wealth is devoted to the production and upkeep of the monasteries. It feels very much like walking into another world filled with piece and grandeur as you lay eyes on the traditional styled buildings. Craftsmanship in Tibet is mostly handmade and some of the country’s best skills are employed to create the various parts of the temples and monasteries. These include huge tapestries that hang around the worshipping grounds. Such detail and symbolic meaning was embedded into these pieces and it was clear that much religious meaning was held in each and every image.
As I looked into the blue sky and clouds, the captivating gold roofing of the various buildings in the monastery captured my attention. There were various sculptures and domes in gold, each symbolic to something in the Tibetan Buddhist way of life.
I hope that one day i will go there too, until then i am travelling and learning things thanks to your posts!!! Thanks for sharing!!
