Monochrome Monday: Textures

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

Dear Monochromians,

for todays monochrome-monday I'd like to share some monochrome textures with you, that I did with my old Canon 1000D dslr.

I also shared some of those at Gurushots, an addictive photography challenge site, that I just recently discovered.

If we were able to implement something similar on the steemit blockchain, it might be a real game-changer.

If you want to check out the Gurushots site, you may want to sign up through my referral link, because we both would get some goodies.

They look very nice textures, Can I use them in my 3D projects? Are they copyright protected?

Thanks, until now they are copyrighted, but I can make them CC-BY if you want. Maybe even CC0, if you need it.

I just made the images CC0, so that you are able to use them in your projects. Have fun!

Thanx a lot buddy. Have you seen my 3D architectural designs, suggest me something to make so that I can use your textures in it and I will love to collaborate with you.

You're welcome! I saw some of your architectural design posts and I can imagine some lamp, vase or even wall withe steel texture. Maybe a table, frame or bowl made out of the wood. Anyways, I'm looking forward to whatever you will come up with :-)

Ok buddy give me some more textures and I will use them.

We'll see... show me how you use them and maybe I can offer you some more.

I like that stone and wooden things texture. really artistic. And what is in the last image? Some stone?

Thank you :-) The last image is a close up from a steel block, that I saw in an exhibition in Bochum.

I was positive it was some kind of stone :) I couldn't tell :)

Those are fantastic textures, and great to see them featured so prominently on gurushots.com. BTW, I just tried something that looks very interesting. I flipped your first shot of the grass vertically

:-)

@roused

Thank you @roused - Turning the meadow-image is really a great idea :-) I'm loving it!

I turned it into a ZZ Top poster

:-)

Wow! It's really amazing! Looks like a beard or some fireworks this way :-))

I love the arrangements, almost of it is one picture (at least the first 4) but then wondering how you ever could find such a location.

Thank you! I found the majority of them at the shore of the river Rhine, which is flowing through my hometown. The last image is taken from a piece of steel, I saw in an exhibition in Bochum.

The Rhine is such a nice river and diverse as well. When I was a child, I used to sail the rhine up and down many times. Especially the part between Koblenz and Bingen is soooo beautiful and I always loved to sail through it. But the Neckar I also love really much! Super nice views and so great so see it while sailing, moving though it.

I second that. The river is really a treasure-box and I'm really happy to live by the river, as it was something I always wanted ;-)

Das sind richtig tolle Texturen, da kommen mir direkt tolle Möglichkeiten bei der Bildbearbeitung in den Sinn, was man damit schönes machen könnte.

Nur zu, die Fotos sind ja jetzt gemeinfrei ;-)

Upvoted! I love yout monochrome shots!

Thanks :-)

Yes, like all the other 18439 accounts you're following. Next time I will flag your comment, because you're repeatedly posting the same comment all over steemit. Please stop that spam!

Gorgeous.. I love the colour depth in the grass... :)

I guess you talk about the contrast, as there is no colour in this ;-) Thanks for your vote, though!

Black is also a colour. Monochrome tones are also colour .
Contrast is the light and shadow. Colour depth can be understood as both - balancing of many shades. And the balancing of a single colour gradation. ;) . The depth given by use of any colour to create an atmosphere, is colour depth. Also called Atmospheric Depth. :)
I meant colour depth. But yes contrast too is great. :)

For me colors are something with hue, but I don't want to argue about it. Thanks for explaining your point of view!

cool with me :)
