Forward to the past (vol.17). Temple of Simeon the Theophany (Tyumen)

in photography •  7 years ago

A little dilute the views of my city with photos from Tyumen.

The building of this temple on the corner of Ishim (Ordzhonikidze) and Bazaar Square was built for the Vladimir Orphan asylum in 1872 with the help of the merchant SM. Trusova and his daughters FS. Serebryakova, in 1885 the church of Simeon the Hospitable was added to the house. The building is perfectly preserved to our days.

After the Revolution in 1920, the church was closed. And at different times it housed SovParshkola, Pedagogical College and one of the buildings of the Tyumen Medical Institute.

At the moment the building houses the Tyumen deanery of the Tobolsk-Tyumen diocese and the library of the Znamensky cathedral.

Clearly, all the changes on this morph.
