Eldorado Mountains, the Colorado River and Lake Mojave

in photography •  7 years ago

The Colorado River snakes down through the Eldorado Mountains on this side of the river and the Black Mountains on the other side.

On the right side of this image the river widens where it becomes Lake Mojave. That area is known as Cottonwood Valley.

I lensed this image very early on a blisteringly hot summer morning flying west of the river exploring the wilderness areas around the Mojave Desert.

This image is from my ongoing project in which I am trying to raise awareness of the 47% of the USA and 90% of Canada that remain unpopulated wilderness.

Where Eagles Fly - The American Wilderness Expedition is my personal mission to introduce people to these amazing locations that surround us.

Very cool mission, and great photos. I am often suprised at how little people know about even just the wilderness areas that are local to them, much less all the amazing wilderness areas across the country. Keep up the great posts @skypilot I support your mission!
