The beauty of aircraft

in photography •  7 years ago

For many years I have flown and photographed airplanes because I love to fly, I love being in the sky, and I love airplanes.
My father was a combat pilot in WWII.
I didn't grow up with him but somehow I inherited a love of flight from him. Maybe it was that orange tissue-covered glider I went to touch when I was two years old and he yelled, "Get away from that!"
That's about the only memory I have of him.
But I have planes, and I'd like to share them with you.
I'll start this series with a Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star, the first operational jet fighter in US Air Force history, that I captured during the Reno Air Races a few years ago. What a magnificent day for an amazing airplane.
Enjoy!
