Canola fields in Taiwan (4 photos)

in photography •  8 years ago  (edited)

Today I read an article about canola fields outside Melbourne and thought I would share some of my photos of canola fields in Nantou, Taiwan, taken near my parents' house. I was very excited to try out the new CPL (Circular Polarizer) I had ordered and the results were fantastic. The sky looked so beautifully blue and the contrast of the yellow flowers against the blue sky really cheered me up!

Nantou is the the middle of Taiwan and known for its good water quality and attracts retirees like my parents because the weather is warm all year round but it doesn't have a good public transport system. There is no train station and no high speed rail station so unless you have a car, it is a bit difficult to get around. The scenery is beautiful though!

(This dog looks like he is posing for me!)

(I cropped this to make the bee more obvious)

(The buildings are typical of Taiwanese architecture)
