If you plan to participate at Bonneville, bring plenty of spare parts.

These race cars are one of a kind and there are being pushed to the extreme. Every team was working on their cars and the "Carbiliner" streamliner team was hard at it after busting their rear end. The case was cracked and the gears inside were torn off. When I checked out their pit, their team had the rear axle completely apart and were quickly replacing all the broken parts. Those parts cannot be found at Autozone and there is no city nearby. They were able to replace all the broken parts and run again.

The Carbiliner had a measured speed of 413.514 MPH with an exit speed of 420.956 MPH, but unfortunately they did not set a record. Hopefully they have better luck next year.

Check out that crane on the trailer. Most cars sit so low on the ground it is impossible to use a conventional trailer. They usually have a custom trailer that will sit down on the ground. This one just picks the whole car off with a crane and sets it down next to the trailer.
