I had the privilege of hanging out in the Bonneville Salt Flat pit area. Actually it was no real privilege at all. I just got a $5.00 pit pass. Haha. It is by far the best place to go visit during the Bonneville Speed Week. The teams and drivers are very happy to talk and share their experiences. The Turbinator team was no exception. They even had free flyers to take with details on their car, pictures of the team, and professional pictures of the car.

This car is a turbine powered car, but the turbine actually powers the wheels. The Vesco Racing team responsible for this car is shooting to break the 500 MPH barrier for a wheel driven car.

When it comes to breaking the 500 MPH land speed barrier, baby steps are required. They have set the record of 455 MPH with an average of two runs, but look at their top speed 470 MPH.
