Ultraviolet and Near Infrared Photography - Overlooking the landscape of the Graves Mountain main pitsteemCreated with Sketch.

While digging for rocks, you forget how far out in the middle of nowhere you are until you get to the top of the overlook. Lincolnton is about an hour from moderate sized town and is about two hours from Atlanta. Looking at all the undeveloped land off in the distance reminds me how small this pit is compared to the massive Georgia forests.

This first photo is my entry for #landscapephotography started by @juliank

I have never tried ultra violet but love the result here

@tattoodjay

Ah thank you, its worth a try. You may need a tripod if your camera is stock.

Pls of tripods so thats not a problem, will be fun to work on something like this sometime

@tattoodjay

I do not need to use tripods if its bright outside, but I hear if you use a unmodified camera the exposure times can be very long with ultraviolet and infrared passthrough filters.

Though I have not tried, I only use these special filters on my GH3.

I think I will initially try with filters, but downthe line I may consider trying a modified camera if I like the results

Makes it look like another world. :-)

@manorvillemike

Sure does, the infrared makes the sky, trees and water look so different.
