A butterfly is such a great creature for it beholds a beauty unrivaled to others. Butterflies are not only a beautiful creature but it also the sign of hope and a identifier that every struggle have a pleasant ending. I think, this is the best time to share my Photo Collection Of Butterflies.
As a nature photographer, the day mostly starts with the thought that where do I begin? There are so many photographic opportunities, and I think it is not always easy to choose the right object with right moment. But among all of nature’s amazing plurality, there is one species or creature you just can’t take bad pictures if you love photography, that is butterflies. With the right arrangements you’ll easily get one ultimate colorful Photo because of these bright and beautiful creatures and the colorful flowers they feed on.

There are few things which should be kept in mind, specially for The Nature Photographer. It is often very frustrating when you notice a beautiful butterfly, sitting on a colorful flower, you approach(Move forward) it very carefully, put your tripod and camera in the perfect position, and when you are about to take the first click it flies away. But if you have enough patience and perfections, I can ensure you that some beautiful photos which have good outcome, can be taken.
And as I have already mentioned that butterfly is not only a creature but also a inspiration for human because we easily compare our life with butterflies and get motivation from it.
" Happiness is comparable to butterfly; the harder you try to pursue it the further it goes beyond your reach but if you just sit down patiently and calmly it will perch on you all by itself."

Things Which Should Be Kept In Mind
When photographing close-up, the depth of field is always very small. So that, to have your butterfly completely in focus, you need a small aperture. Mainly for butterflies which have their wings closed you need an aperture of f/5.6, but for butterflies that have their wings stretch open, it should be an aperture of f/10 and higher. If your camera has a depth of field preview button, use it to see how much of your object is in focus.
You should also take care about the background and try not to use slovenly or disorderly background. And most importantly you should not disturb the object which is focused on your camera by moving your tripod and camera. I always prefer manual focus when doing close-up photography.

EQUIPMENT TO USE
If you are a fresher or starting photography with butterflies then I shall always recommend you a DSLR combined with a macro lens, or you could also use telephoto lens. After more time I would recommend a macro lens of 100mm because it gives you a better working distance. A longer focal length gives you a beautiful out of focus or hazy background. My first butterfly photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 995, that mean a digital camera also can get you started your photography career.
Most of the time I use a tripod. If you go early in the morning for your photography or on a cloudy day, I don't thing that the available light might be poor and a tripod is necessary in this case. On a cloudy day or low light day you can use a flash unit as a fill flash to create a source of extra light.

"The butterfly does not count the months of its life but rather it counts the moments and yet all the time it has is still enough."
Focus on the butterfly’s eyes
Some nature photographers usually like to focus on the wings, but I choose to make sure the eye is as sharp as can be, and if the wings drop off focus a little bit, that’s okay. It’s much easier to use a bigger depth of field, like around f/8 or f/11, so I hugely encourage you to try that first. I like to use a smaller f/stop in order to throw the background out of focus. It is much more challenging to take shots that way, but I like the effect which it gives. It makes the butterfly really stand out from the background instead of composition in to its surroundings.

Have patience and have fun!
At the end I would like to say that if you have enough patience in your photography specially in nature then you win every battle in this field. Beautiful butterfly photos take time and patience, but they are really worth it. If you don’t get it your first attempt, keep trying. It’s a great opportunity to grow your skills and you might get an amazing shot.
"You've gotta be a caterpillar before you are a butterfly. Problem is, most people aren't willing to be a caterpillar."
[Flying Jezebel Butterfly]
[Puddling Time - Group Of Butterfly]
At the end I would like to say some thing that don’t hesitate to take photo from different angles/sides, in different light and you’ll notice that experimenting with all these elements and moments will improve your pictures and photography skills.
I hope these basic tips can get you started, but don’t forget to be creative yourself.
I will be very happy if you give some pictures of butterflies of you collection, and any queries are hugely appreciated.
