Photos from A San Fran New Year

in photography •  7 years ago

I spent New Year's Eve and Day in San Francisco with my boyfriend, and finally got to have a proper photo session with the new macro lens that he bought me for Christmas!! 😍 Here are some of my favorite photos. I really enjoyed the architecture in the area, and had a lot of fun exploring just a two block radius while waiting for breakfast.

I am just starting to learn how to use the lens, and I can tell that it's already making me a better photographer because I have to really put more thought and energy into each shot and move around a lot to get it right.

There were some shots I wanted to take that I couldn't accomplish, just because they were so closeup, so it will take some getting used to. Any tips from fellow photographers out there? 😉

We also ended up walking across the Golden Gate bridge at sunset! There was a group of volunteers called Bridgewatch Angels who try to help anyone in distress on the bridge, and they were all so friendly and waving and wishing everyone a Happy New Year. It was good exercise and a great end to the day! Hope you all have a peaceful, happy 2018.

That shot of the kids atop the ruins is incredible. The sky looks white as though it were another photograph interspliced on another, you have somehow photographed something I've never seen before.
