When Sparks Fly

A couple of years ago, my life was ruled by one thing. My job. Working as a full time mechanic was rough. Woke up every day to do the same thing at the same time with the same frustrations. Only to go home caked in dirt, oil, and potentially unsatisfied.

I saw the beauty in it though. There were many pieces of that job that I could find delight in as well. One day I decided to start bringing my camera to work. I would find various things to snap all over the shop.

On this particular day, I fired up the grinder and had my coworker hold a screw right up to the stone rotator. This resulted in a streak of sparks. I took this shot with my Nikon D5200 with yet again the trusty 50mm.

Wow, beautiful! Do you still work there?

No actually! Fortunately I left two years ago and have never had to work a "job" since.

Thanks man! Yeah always have to find the good in the bad right?!

nice shot and sweet story!

Brilliant photo and great way to make your work more fullfiling. Photography can be a great joy. I also love it and makes my life so much fuller, seeing things that are often ommited by others.

I agree! The lens of a camera makes things visible that others do not see!

I love this post ! It just shows that even if you are not really keen on your job you can find some way to make it interesting , and you did it by snapping pictures at the workplace. Just keep it on bro, would love to see some more creativity like this from you, you have a new follower !

I appreciate that @greenpotato!

Awesome shot man, it’s cool that you found art in the place where the daily grind can seem so unsatisfying. And again with the 50, always great!

The 50 has always been my favorite lens! Thanks @Tim.clarke!
