Around the time that school starts here in our area, the county fair comes to town. I remember when I was a kid, the first day of school they would give us a free ticket to the fair which would also enter us in a drawing for a new bike. I never won it, but I have fond memories of going. I would always enter my artwork in the art competition and won several blue ribbons.

The smell of cotton candy and hot dogs filled the air, along with the sawdust and the dung of the animal exhibits. The riot of colors filled up my senses and made an indelible impression on my memory.
