Some views on the Mae Khong between Thailand and Lao in Chiang Khong
Chiang Khong is located in northern Thailand about eighty km from Mae Sai along the Mae Khong river coming from China and crossing through south China. Most of the merchandise sold in Thailand Bangkok and exported comes from China through Myanmar to Chiang Saen about thirty kilometres from Mae Sai.
The merchandise is transported from Chiang Saen to Mae Sai where the wholesalers
from all over Thailand will get delivered, and transporters take the merchandise from Mae Sai
The boats are called flatboats and descending the Mae Khong is quite perilous
