Once in a while, it's nice to explore places outside the city. You get to appreciate the natural beauty there is. You then tend to wonder how they come to existence and why they are quite pleasing. Then you go to science and other fields to find the explanation. If not satisfied with the answer you got, you then tend to believe it is there for a reason which you will know in the future.
Nevertheless, there is really something with nature that will make you think and reflect. I guess with all the busy activities we have in our urban life, we will really appreciate these stuffs because they stop us from fully exhausting ourselves and sort of recharge us of our being. We connect with nature, appreciating its magnificence and in return, it gives us energy... in some ways.
So this rock is indeed towering. I can vaguely recall subjects when we were younger about rocks, the types like igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic (gosh) and how they are minerals and everything.
With pressure, they were formed, and with pressure, they will be destroyed. You again reflect about pressure, which can really make or break you. It really depends on how you handle them.
With our natural tendency to find adventure, we would go climb this rock to have an accomplishment. Climbing it is a struggle and a long journey. When you reach the top, you have that sense of accomplishment for a brief moment. Then you realize you have to go down. But at least this time, it is less strenuous. Gravity is there to help us. Then we cherish the memories we have afterwards. That is so similar with life.
We pursue something and put effort with it, thus we should enjoy our journey for that goal. And when we reach the top, cherish the moment while it last. Sometimes you will have that odd feeling that it's lonely at that top amidst seeing everything. I guess that's why we tend to go down to be part again with the ground world... to feel the sense of belonging.
Some, though, would like to just stay there at the top, but that is another challenge, which is a titanic task. Imagine staying there to survive, you have to bring all the provisions (wifi included? hehe) and then realizing that you can't sustain it, you will really need to go down. I am amazed by those who have been consistently on top as it is not really easy. Then again, life changes and we really need to go down, at least, in a graceful way.
I wonder if within these rocks precious minerals will be found. That would have been great, right? Having gold and diamonds and everything nice. But that would mean destroying this rock, which is, sad. Life again. You need to sacrifice things to get what you thought you wanted. And we you get it, hopefully it is worth it. Otherwise, you will be placed in a situation of what ifs. What if the rock will produce lasting income than the gold and diamond that will just be sold and gone? What if the future generation can benefit more with this natural scenery compared to the minerals you got that are fleeting? Yeah, science. In every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. So we reflect again what is a better option and stick to our decision. Of course, we accept the consequences.
The green plants on the rock here are quite amazing. They are survivors! I mean, nobody is nurturing them directly (that we explicitly see, that is). But they still thrive. I guess they were able to adapt to what was given to them. Contentment. It's like an indirect way of saying that everything is already provided to us for our survival, we just need to be creative in using them. But that's difficult. Imagine you being those plants, only getting water and sunlight and rock soil to survive, maybe like no internet or fancy food and other cool stuffs. It boils down to the essentials. Of course, nothing's wrong with wanting those new stuffs, but we should always go back to the basics, if we want to survive.
I am grateful to have witness this one. Of course, there will be other future rocks you will see, more scenic and spectacular. But this rock has it's place in memory lane. Life again.
I bet there are valuable minerals in the rock.
