Wild mushrooms in Italy 🇮🇹 are these porcini mushrooms?

Found these hidden away!

So these had been dug up - I think they looked and smelled edible, a lot like porcini mushrooms!

So I didn’t try any, as I’m not too sure. But, I would love to be able to forage for wild mushrooms!

These are not 200% white mushrooms, they look like Armillaria mellea mushrooms, but I can’t say. The white fungus has no plate under the cap. This is a tubular mushroom.

Hello! Ah thank you so much :) it’s great to have you comment here! So I guess these are not edible in that case? Or we would have to take caution. There is so much for me to learn :)

I would not risk it. in our area there are seasons for certain types of mushrooms. We know when and for which mushroom you can go to the forest. I do not know the specifics of forests in Italy.
