Hi all !!! Good day guys, Greetings santun for you on this beautiful platform, hopefully always good

The picture you see is one type of insect that is very familiar with a hand, it is one of the moth-shaped insects that are sitting on my daughter's hands.

It is not known for sure what the intent and purpose of this moth are. While that looks he is very comfortable and very close to humans. Whereas in general, these animals are very wild to humans, sometimes just taking pictures is very complicated and takes time to approach them so it is tiring.

With closeness to humans, my daughter is very free to take pictures, and this is the result of the photos. This photo was taken at 10:14 on Tuesday, December 16, 2019 at one of the campuses where he studied in the Lhokseumawe area of Aceh, Indonesia.

In this meeting, of course, it is still in the discussion of scientific insights relating to types of insects such as moths. Hopefully you enjoy reading it and can add experience in the field of fauna.

A. Definition of Moth

If we talk about moths certainly not separated from butterflies because moths are closely related to butterflies scientifically they are still classified into Lapidoptera maybe you are familiar with this term.

Then how to distinguish? In scientific terms, experts have separated moths and butterflies, it is because the difference between butterflies and moths is more than just a taxonomy and sometimes only in physical form and characteristics. Then another reference also says that the name Rhopalocera or butterfly and Heterocera or moth are used to formalize the differences between them as what was discussed earlier. Experts have made efforts to divide

the Lepidoptera order into groups such as Microlepidoptera and Macrolepidoptera, Fenatae and Jugatau, or Monotrysia and Ditrysia.

B. Difference between moth and butterfly

Basically the difference between moths and butterflies has been officially discussed by experts in every science related to insect species, but in this case I will explain the simple differences each moth and butterfly have. Maybe you can understand it visually in your daily life.

When you look carefully at the characteristics of both of course you will get the answer, because there is clearly a difference between a butterfly and a moth. You will find out easily when you look carefully at the state of the two, because there are very clear differences in the way they live in the natural surroundings. Well .... For more details, let us consider the explanation below.

1. Moth Characteristics

As you have read in the above explanation, there are differences between these two insect species, even though they are similar in appearance or they are still in the order of Lapidoptera. Moth is a type of insect that is active at night but is also active in the afternoon or in the morning depending on the species of the moth itself, but in general the moth always performs its activities at night.

Then when he goes down somewhere he will always close his wings exactly as shown in the picture in this post. Then in terms of body size, the moth exceeds the body size of the butterfly, which means the moth is bigger than the butterfly, when compared between 2 to 1 or there are also 3 to 1.

Another difference in moths is that they have antennas that are different in shape from butterflies as they are in the form of elongated rows of feathers. In this case the difference between the two is very clear.

2. Butterfly characteristics

If the moth is often active at night then the butterfly will always be active during the day, of course it is reversed from the time of the moth, the butterfly when entering the night time it will always rest. This is done to collect energy that has been used up in the afternoon. Butterflies will always open their wings while opening and closing or very often spread their wings when stopped at a place, either on a flower or on another.

Then another difference in terms of their body size, the body size of a butterfly is smaller than the moth as mentioned above. While the antennae also have differences, butterflies have long straight antennas and very different from moths.

If concluded there are striking differences both in terms of attitude and in terms of their bodies. However, butterflies have many shades and colors on their wings. In comparison, butterflies rank more compared to moths in terms of beauty, so everyone says they are butterflies.

Even so they are from one descendant or from one nation or people say Lapidoptera. But what determines them as moths or butterflies starts from the process in the cocoon when it is in the third phase of the do in the process of being born.
