Ein-Afek Reserve

Hi, Steemit !!!

The Ein-Afek Reserve is located near the city of Kiryat-Bialik. It is created in the source of the Naaman River, which flows into the sea south of Akko.
"Aphek" means "a place at the water source". Traces of settlements that existed more than five thousand years ago were found here. Before the arrival of Jewish pioneers in 1924, there were marshes here. In 1936, on the roof of the ancient Crusader mill, an observation post was created to protect against Arab pogromists.
If you climb the hill of Tel-Aphef, you can see from it a wide panorama of much of Galilee.
In the ponds in the reserve are fish, mainly carp and sturgeon, as well as water turtles.
In the reserve there are many lakes, between which a wooden bridge with a length of 250 m and a width of 1.2 m is laid.

I recommend to everyone who loves nature, loves the thrill (a passage on the bridge without fences), fresh air, traces of history and watching the water buffalo visit this place. Entrance to the reserve for a nominal fee.

Wow what a beautiful place love the little bridge and all the nature upped @teddy2

Thank simonjay. The place is really unique, there is a small museum, I have never seen so many catfish fish anywhere, water buffaloes are behind the electric fence and much more.

It does look a rather interesting place full of wildlife. Not sure about walking along the bridge/footpath...is it wide?

Thanks katdvine . The width of the bridge is 120 cm and not only I went through it all 250 m, but also members of my family - a son, a daughter with a son-in-law and my wife.
