Jew's Headpiece

in photography •  7 years ago

Hi, Steemit!!!

The Jewish headpiece is a small round lid (sewn of fabric or knitwear) that covers the top of the head.
Religious Jews believe that during the day, especially during the reading of the Torah and prayer, the human head should be covered. Orthodox Jews always wear clothes, other Jews - only in a synagogue, during mourning for a deceased relative or at a celebration of maturity (bar mitzvah).

Thank you! This is so beautiful! Yes we call it a כיפה kippah, which means 'dome'.

Thanks for the food for the thought! I completely agree, I just had difficulties with the translation.
